Matt Bassford's diagnosis of "ALS" (often known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease") forced him to retire from preaching at the end of August, 2022. After five years with the Jackson Heights Church of Christ he then moved to Texas for what he well understood was an inevitable, and likely fairly soon, end of life. We were blessed and privileged to study under Matt's excellent guidance for half a decade, and then to witness the amazing and encouraging example of his most dignified conclusion to that marvelous career as preacher, teacher, and author of dearly beloved hymns. Eight of these final lessons are presented here. Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
